There are four kinds of ceilings most homeowners choose: planks, tiles, drop ceiling panels and drywall. This video will walk you through the advantages of each so you can make an informed decision about which ceiling is best for your project.

Sag/Humidity Resistance – products will remain flat in areas prone to moisture (Standard: Appropriate for climate-controlled interior spaces; Superior: Appropriate for non-climate controlled interior spaces; Superior (Inherent): Will naturally remain flat due to their material type)

Mold/Mildew Resistance – Inhibit the grown of mold and mildew on the ceiling tile (Standard: Appropriate for climate controlled interior spaces; Superior: BIOBLOCK panels are specially treated to resist mold and mildew growth; Superior (Inherent): naturally resist mold and mildew due to their material type.)

Fire Resistance – All Armstrong Ceiling systems meet residential fire code standards. Class A means a better flame spread rating.

Sound Blocking – The rating that measures the amount of noise that travels between rooms. The higher the rating, the more sound blocking you get. Most Armstrong Residential Ceiling products rate between 30 and 35. 35 is considered high.

Sound Absorbing – The percentage of noise that is absorbed in a room.

Recycled Content – The portion of materials used in a product that do not end up in a waste facility. Example: 95% recycled content means that 95% of the product is made from materials that would have otherwise been thrown away and 5% is made of new/raw materials.

Light Reflectance – Percentage of light that strikes the ceiling surface and gets reflected back into the room to create a brighter space. The higher the light reflectance, the brighter the space.
