Improve indoor air quality with the VIDASHIELD UV24 System, an unobtrusive in-room UV-C Air Cleaner that pairs with ACOUSTIBUILT seamless acoustical ceilings and these AIRASSURE suspended ceiling systems: CALLA HEALTH ZONE, ULTIMA HEALTH ZONE, and SCHOOL ZONE FINE FISSURED.
The system includes shielded ultraviolet light and filtration which neutralizes 97%* of bacteria, viruses and allergens. Fitted with familiar ceiling textures for a clean visual, the 2' x 4' system operates continuously to draw air into a concealed chamber above the ceiling, treats it with a patented, scientifically proven UV-C air-cleaning technology, and recirculates clean air back into the room.

Surface and air: What impact does UV-C at the room level have on airborne and surface bacteria?
This peer reviewed article was published in the Canadian Journal of Infection Control on August 18, 2017. Author, Linda D. Lee, DrPH, MS, MBA, Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer, VIDASHIELD
The data indicates that using active air UV-C technology like VIDASHIELD at room level reduces the bioburden in the air and on surfaces, including in occupied spaces. Hospitals should consider implementing active UV-C technology to improve air quality.

Effectiveness of a shielded ultraviolet C air disinfection system in an inpatient pharmacy of a tertiary care children's hospital
This peer reviewed article was published in the American Journal of Infection Control in August 2017. Authors, Don Guimera, MSN, RN, CIC, CCRP, FAPIC, Jean Trzil, PharmD, Joy Joyner, RN, CIC, Nicholas D. Hysmith, MD, FAAP
This novel air purification system was effective in decreasing viable airborne microbes in our inpatient pharmacy. We believe these units are advantageous to other technologies currently available in that they allow for constant, in-room UV-C air purification.

Cleaning the air with ultraviolet germicidal irradiation lessened contact infections in a long-term acute care hospital
This peer reviewed article was published in the American Journal of Infection Control on December 29, 2017. Authors, Tina Ethington, MSN, RN, CEN, NE-BC, Sherry Newsome, BSN, RN, MBA/MNA, Jerri Waugh, BSN, RN, MBA/MHA, Linda D. Lee, DrPH, MBA
Continuous shielded UV-C reduced airborne bacteria and may also lower the number of HAIs, including those caused by contact pathogens. Reduced infections result in lessened morbidity and lower costs. Health care facilities might wish to consider continuous shielded UV-C at the room level as a possible addition to their infection prevention and control protocols.

UV-C light and infection rate in a long term care ventilator unit
This peer reviewed article was published in the Canadian Journal of Infection Control on May 11, 2018. Authors, Douglas W. Kane, MD, Cynthia Finley, RRT, Diane Brown, RRT
Findings suggest that continuous exposure to UV-C treated air reduces HAIs. Shielded UV-C units in patient rooms may be an effective non-staff intervention dependent method for reducing HAIs.
